Rep. Jerry Nadler, a longstanding representative in the U.S. Congress for New York's 12th District, took to social media on April 15, 2025, to comment on recent safety measures and social security issues. His insights shed light on both aviation safety in New York City and the state of Social Security, reflecting concerns about public safety and social welfare.

In a post dated April 15, 2025, Nadler expressed his approval of the Federal Aviation Administration's decision to suspend the operator involved in a fatal helicopter crash in New York City. "I welcome @FAANews’ decision to ground the operator behind last week’s deadly helicopter crash," he stated, emphasizing the necessity for further action from the FAA to address the "alarming pattern of fatal helicopter crashes in NYC."

Nadler also voiced his perspective on Social Security during the Democrats' Save Social Security Day of Action on the same day. He asserted that Social Security should be regarded as an essential benefit rather than a luxury. "Social Security isn’t a luxury—it’s an EARNED benefit that millions rely on to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table," he affirmed.

He further commented on the motives behind certain actions against Social Security, cautioning against purported attempts to undermine the program. "Let’s be clear: this isn’t about 'efficiency.' It’s about sabotage. It’s about dismantling a program they never believed in—and leaving seniors and working Americans to pay the price,” warned Nadler.

Jerry Nadler, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New York's 12th District, has been an advocate since replacing Ted Weiss in 1992.
