Rep. Jerry Nadler, representing New York's 12th District in the U.S. Congress, shared his views on social media regarding current issues involving social security and antisemitism. Nadler has been a long-serving representative, first entering Congress in 1992.

On April 15, 2025, Rep. Nadler expressed criticism towards former President Trump and businessman Elon Musk, alleging they are undermining social security. He asserted "Trump and his crony Elon Musk—who called Social Security “the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time”—are gutting it from the inside: slashing services, delaying payments, closing offices, and firing frontline staff."

In response to the alleged actions by Trump and Musk, Nadler emphasized the efforts being made by Democrats. On the same day, he added, "Democrats are fighting back. We’re telling Trump and Musk to keep their hands off our Social Security. The American people built this program—and we won’t let billionaires tear it down. #SaveSocialSecurity #ProtectOurSeniors."

Additionally, Nadler commended a coalition of Jewish community organizations for their statement condemning what he described as the Trump administration's misuse of antisemitism. He tweeted, "I warmly welcome this powerful statement from an important coalition of Jewish community organizations and strongly agree with their condemnation of the Trump administration’s weaponization of antisemitism to attack higher education and undermine our fragile democracy. Thank you".

Jerry Nadler has been serving in the U.S. Congress, representing New York’s 12th District, since 1992. He was first elected following the tenure of Ted Weiss. He previously served in the New York State Assembly.
