Rep. Jerry Nadler, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New York's 12th district, has recently shared his views on significant political matters through a series of tweets. Nadler, who has been a member of Congress since 1992 and previously served in the New York State Assembly, expressed his concerns over recent legislative actions and policy decisions.
On December 11, 2024, Rep. Nadler criticized House Republicans for their approach to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). He stated that "House Republicans have hijacked the annual NDAA to drag servicemembers' children into their anti-trans culture war." He further accused them of attempting to ban essential gender-affirming care covered by TRICARE as a means to appeal to anti-LGBTQ+ extremists, affirming his decision to vote against it.
In another tweet dated December 12, 2024, Nadler commented on former President Donald Trump's economic policies. He noted that Trump was already retreating from promises made about reducing costs for Americans before taking office again. Nadler remarked that Trump admitted his tariff policies could raise prices and acknowledged that addressing grocery costs would be challenging.
