James Skoufis has ended his campaign for the Democratic National Committee Chair following criticism from within his party. His candidacy was dismissed by some as not serious, and it highlighted his connections with figures like Joe Biden and Kathy Hochul.

Ed Cox, NYGOP Chair, commented on Skoufis' decision: “James Skoufis represents everything voters in the 42nd Senate District are rejecting—an Albany insider who prioritizes progressive, out-of-touch policies over the needs of hardworking New Yorkers.” He added that Skoufis' attempt to lead the DNC showed how disconnected he is from constituents and their support for America First values.

The 42nd Senate District has shown strong support for America First policies, which contrasts with what critics describe as Skoufis' "Albany First" approach. This stance is seen as aligning more with Kathy Hochul's agenda than addressing local district concerns.

Cox further stated: “New Yorkers are waking up to Skoufis’ true priorities—and they won’t forget who he stands with: Albany Democrats who have made New York the highest taxed, least free state in the nation.”
