NYGOP mourns passing of former chair Anthony J. Colavita

NYGOP Chair Ed Cox has expressed condolences following the death of Anthony J. Colavita, a significant figure in the New York Republican Party. Colavita was recognized for his contributions as both a former Chair of the New York State Republican Party and a leader in Westchester County.

Cox stated, "With heavy hearts, New York Republicans mourn the passing of Anthony J. Colavita, a pillar of the New York Republican Party and a true public servant." He highlighted Colavita's dedication to public service, mentioning his role as Town Supervisor of Eastchester where he facilitated the acquisition of Lake Isle Country Club for local residents.

Beyond his political roles, Colavita was noted for maintaining a successful legal practice and actively participating in civic organizations. He also volunteered as a firefighter, demonstrating his commitment to community service.

Cox extended sympathies on behalf of the party to Colavita's family: "On behalf of the entire New York Republican Party, we offer our deepest condolences to his wife Margaret, his children Anthony, John, and Christine, and his beloved grandchildren."
