Representative Jerry Nadler, a senior member of the U.S. Congress representing New York's 12th district since 1992, shared his criticisms and legal perspectives on recent actions by the Trump Administration via social media on March 27, 2025.
"Welcome to the Trump Administration: where public servants who briefly leave their computers unlocked get physically dragged out of work, but cabinet and senior officials who share war plans on a commercial messaging app and commit perjury? No consequences whatsoever." posted Nadler, expressing his concern over what he perceives as inconsistencies in accountability standards within the administration.
In another post on the same day, Nadler criticized the firing of key officials at the EEOC, stating "Trump’s unprecedented, unlawful firing of Commissioners Burrows and Samuels of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission undermines the EEOC’s mission to protect American workers from discrimination and upends the Commission’s historic independence." Nadler also highlighted his leadership among his peers opposing this decision.
Additionally, Nadler addressed a legal victory for New York regarding reproductive health care rights. He asserted, "I have a message for Texas: Don’t mess with New York. Today, a court upheld New York's shield law and shut down Texas’ absurd attempt to criminalize essential medical care. Our shield law is a line in the sand against extremist MAGA attacks on reproductive health care." He emphasized the importance of the state's shield law in protecting against what he views as extremism.
