NYGOP Chair Ed Cox has expressed his condolences following the death of Henry Wells. In a statement, Cox described Wells as "a devoted family man, respected member of his community, and a proud patriot." He highlighted Wells' life of service to his family and country, noting his "distinguished military service in the U.S. Air Force" which demonstrated his commitment to protecting freedoms.

Cox extended sympathies particularly to Steven Wells, Henry's son and Treasurer of the New York Republican State Committee, along with the entire Wells family. "The NYGOP family offers our full support and prayers as they mourn the loss of a beloved brother, father and grandfather," he said.

Cox concluded by expressing hope that "Henry’s memory be a blessing and an enduring inspiration of duty, honor, and love of country."
