Last night, the New York GOP's Albany headquarters was vandalized with swastikas placed on its doors and windows by what has been described as a radical leftist. Police authorities are currently investigating the incident.

In response to the attack, NYGOP Chair Ed Cox stated: “The New York Republican Party’s Albany headquarters was the target of a vile act of political hatred overnight. A vandal duct taped swastikas to our doors and windows – symbols of genocidal evil, meant to intimidate and silence. This is not only an attack on our party, it is also an attack on the values of civil discourse, democracy and decency."

Cox also called on Democratic leaders to address the issue, saying, “New York’s Democratic leaders, namely Governor Hochul, Attorney General James, and Senators Schumer and Gillibrand, must speak out clearly and unequivocally regarding the rising danger of left wing violence.”

Elise Stefanik, House Republican Leadership Chair, referred to previous political comparisons by New York Democrats and urged for legal action, stating: “New Yorkers haven’t forgotten that New York Democrats viciously compared last year’s successful Trump Madison Square Garden Rally to Nazis and called President Trump 'Hitler.' Americans rejected this dangerous rhetoric and overwhelmingly elected President Trump at the ballot box. And now, less than a year later, the New York GOP Albany State headquarters was criminally vandalized with Nazi symbols. We must ensure that this vicious criminal who perpetrated this heinous crime is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

Senate Republican Leader Rob Ortt expressed disdain towards the act, labeling the vandals as "historically illiterate" and further commenting: “The cowards who defaced Republican Party Headquarters with swastikas aren’t just hateful – they’re historically illiterate. Vandalizing the State Republican Party’s property with disgusting Nazi symbols while screaming about ‘fascism’ reveals these individuals are hypocrites, idiots, or both.”

Ortt continued, "This kind of disgusting, hate-fueled intimidation won’t silence us. It will only harden our resolve. We will keep fighting to make New York safer, freer, and more affordable – and we won’t back down for anyone.”

Assembly Republican Leader Will Barclay linked the vandalism to campaign tactics and emphasized a need for prosecution: “This is simply more of the same deranged behavior we saw throughout the Presidential campaign last fall. Democrats spent months and millions calling Donald Trump 'Hitler' and predicting the end of America. Their strategy failed miserably at the ballot box but unfortunately managed to inspire this kind of inexcusable behavior. I look forward to the perpetrator being apprehended and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”
