Rep. Jerry Nadler, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing New York's 12th district, has voiced his concerns on various issues through recent tweets. Nadler, who has been serving in Congress since 1992 after succeeding Ted Weiss, is known for his advocacy on social and economic matters.
On March 4, 2025, Rep. Nadler criticized proposed reductions to the Social Security workforce. He stated that "Cutting @SocialSecurity's workforce in half and shutting offices is an attack on our seniors and disabled Americans." He emphasized that such actions would effectively reduce benefits for those reliant on Social Security services.
Later that day, he commented on the political landscape with Republicans holding majorities in both chambers of Congress and the White House. Nadler supported Representative Rosa DeLauro's stance by asserting "no f***ing way should we lend a hand to Republicans as they actively dismantle the federal government."
On March 5, 2025, Rep. Nadler addressed remarks made by a Trump advisor regarding veterans' employment status. He expressed disapproval over comments suggesting veterans fired by Trump and Musk might not be currently employable: "It’s disgraceful that a high-ranking advisor to Trump believes that the more than 6,000 veterans fired by Trump and Musk may not be 'fit to have a job at this moment.'" Nadler highlighted these individuals' service to the country and condemned their treatment.
