ALBANY – NYGOP Chair Ed Cox released a statement in response to the latest Siena Poll, which shows President Trump within single digits of Joe Biden in New York State. This is the third poll in recent weeks indicating such a trend.

The poll highlights several key points:

- Trump leads by 13 points in the suburbs, a crucial battleground area.

- Republicans are ahead by 4 points in the generic congressional ballot in the suburbs.

- Biden has a 70% unfavorability rating with independents and a 64% unfavorability rating in the suburbs.

- Trump holds a 17-point lead with independents.

- 49% of New Yorkers believe crime has worsened, while only 17% say it has improved.

- 83% acknowledge that the migrant crisis is a serious problem.

Ed Cox stated: “This is the third poll that shows President Trump within striking distance of Joe Biden in New York State. Democrats are wholly responsible for inflation in food, energy and housing costs. They’ve enacted reckless, criminal-friendly crime laws and incentivized illegal immigration into our nation and state.

“The numbers are unmistakable: New Yorkers want a leader who can restore order, address economic challenges, and handle the migrant crisis effectively. President Trump and Republican candidates are ready to deliver the change that New Yorkers are demanding.”
