The Biden-Harris inauguration was a ceremony anticipated not just by the United States of America, but by the whole world.
It was a peaceful and hopeful event that many were glad to have witnessed.
But what most were glad about was President Joe Biden’s speech calling for unity.
“For without unity, there is no peace, only bitterness, and fury,” Biden said in his speech. No progress, only exhausting outrage. No nation, only a state of chaos. This is our historic moment of crisis and challenge, and unity is the path forward.”
One who was pleased with the president’s message was Republican Rep. Tom Reed (N.Y.) who further said that he was "proud" to be at the ceremony, The Hill reported.
“Great to be here today at inauguration...This is American democracy at work,” Reed also wrote on Twitter.
Reed, in conjunction with his Problem Solvers Caucus co-chair Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), released a statement to assert that the caucus is committed to working in unity with the president.
"The Problem Solvers Caucus stands ready and eager to work with President Biden on this effort. If we can commit to working across the aisle and collaborating on a genuine bipartisan agenda, the opportunities are endless."
