NYGOP Chair Ed Cox has issued a statement in response to recent energy rate hikes by Con Edison, which could increase costs for New Yorkers by $154 per month. Cox criticized Governor Kathy Hochul's energy policies, claiming they are detrimental to residents' finances.
"Kathy Hochul’s radical energy policies are hitting New Yorkers where it hurt: our wallets," said Cox. He attributed the increased rates to what he described as Hochul's "war on affordable energy," arguing that these policies force families to spend more on basic utilities like heating and electricity.
Cox further accused New York Democrats of pursuing a "reckless green agenda" that he believes is making life in the state unaffordable. According to him, this approach is contributing to an exodus of citizens and businesses from New York, leading the nation in outmigration.
