Jerry Nadler, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing New York's 12th district, recently expressed his concerns through a series of tweets regarding actions taken by the Trump Administration. Nadler, who has been in office since 1992 after replacing Ted Weiss, addressed issues ranging from public health information to staffing in critical national services.
On January 31, 2025, Nadler criticized the Trump Administration for removing significant LGBTQ and HIV-related health information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website. He stated, "I strongly condemn the Trump Admin's decision to strip vital LGBTQ and HIV-related health information from the @CDCgov website." He further emphasized that this action deprives Americans of crucial resources necessary for equal rights and public health.
Later on the same day, he addressed issues concerning air traffic control staffing levels. In a tweet posted at 21:44 UTC, Nadler remarked on Donald Trump's decision to halt hiring new air traffic controllers while allegedly coercing existing ones into resigning. He noted that this could lead to understaffing and increased fatigue among those still employed: "Our country needs more air traffic controllers, not fewer."
On February 1st, 2025, Nadler commented on President Trump's pardon of individuals involved in violent acts during the January 6th insurrection. He criticized what he termed as an attack on law enforcement integrity by illegally removing FBI agents and DOJ prosecutors involved in prosecuting insurrectionists: "On day one, Trump pardoned violent criminals who brutally attacked law enforcement officers during his January 6th insurrection."
