FOIA Request to New York State Board of Education Regarding Instructional Mandates for State K-12 Schools on December 10, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Empire State Today have submitted a request under the New York Freedom of Information Law. Our request seeks a list of all instructional mandates for state K-12 schools, including all required courses and general instruction.
Our role as a media organization involves gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities, which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
We await a response from the New York State Board of Education and will continue to strive towards providing the most accurate and up-to-date information about educational policies in our state.
