NYGOP Chair Ed Cox has expressed his concerns regarding the Board of Regents' upcoming vote to allow boys to participate in girls' sports. The decision, expected next week, has been described by Cox as a move that undermines fairness and safety for female athletes.

Cox stated, "After delaying this vote until after the election, the Trojan Horse is through the gate and radical progressives’ relentless assault on fairness and opportunity is about to enter its next phase." He criticized the anticipated decision as a radical action that contradicts both science and common sense.

He further noted that since 1975, members of the Board of Regents have been selected based on partisan decisions by the Assembly Speaker. According to Cox, "The Democratic Party and state teacher unions essentially control the election of Regents members – their actions should surprise no one."

Cox also addressed previous accusations from Democrats and media figures who accused Republicans of "fear mongering" concerning Proposition 1. He remarked, "Barely a month after the election, we have been proven correct: Republicans have long warned that Proposition 1 would embolden policies like this that put ideology above reality and force New Yorkers to grapple with harmful consequences."
