New York collected 4.8% more in selective sales and gross receipts taxes in 2020

Of the $92.7 billion in taxes collected by New York in 2020, $12.4 billion came from selective sales and gross receipts taxes, a 4.8 percent increase over the previous year, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s Annual Survey of State Government Tax Collections (STC).
