Village of Hastings-on-Hudson announces schedule of community events for late May

The Village of Hastings-on-Hudson announced on May 20 a series of upcoming community events scheduled to take place from May 23 through May 29.

These events provide opportunities for residents to engage in local activities, learn about important topics, and participate in civic discussions.

The Winter Farmer’s Market will be held on Saturday, May 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Zinsser Commuter Lot. Rivertown Thrift will open its doors at 3 Spring Street on several dates: Saturday, May 23 (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.), Sunday, May 24 (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.), and Wednesday through Friday, May 27-29 (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.). Memorial Day Events are planned for Sunday, May 24 in the downtown area.

Educational programming includes “Water Safety for Kids 101” on Tuesday, May 26 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Hastings Public Library and the Hastings Youth Council Blood Drive on Wednesday, May 27 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., taking place at the James Harmon Community Center.

Additional highlights include the Smithsonian Democracy in Dialogue Final Project Exhibition Opening Reception at the library on Thursday, May 28 from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., followed by two civic forums that evening: a Candidate Forum for the Democratic Primary for Greenburgh Town Supervisor via Zoom from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., and “Declaration Deep Dive” at the library from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
