The Village of Hastings-on-Hudson announced on May 11 that it will host Friday Night Pride, an event dedicated to celebrating and strengthening the community’s commitment to love and equity. The celebration is scheduled for Friday, June 12, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Warburton Avenue, which will be closed to traffic during the festivities.

Organizers say the evening will begin with a pre-event at Good Witch from 3:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., where families can participate in banner-making activities. At 5:45 p.m., participants will march together to Warburton Avenue led by the Brooklyn Brass Band.

The main event features a live concert at VFW Plaza with performances by musicians, dancers, and other entertainers. Attendees can also enjoy free family-friendly activities such as face painting, kids’ crafts, community art projects, temporary tattoos, a scavenger hunt, spray paint art, and more.

Additional attractions include a giant rainbow slide, rainbow cookie decorating stations, LGBTQ+ books for all ages, various food vendors offering refreshments and snacks, rainbow-themed merchandise stands (“rainbow swag”), and other entertainment options throughout the evening.

Organizers said that the event will take place rain or shine; if there is inclement weather it will move indoors. Community members are encouraged to follow @hastingsfridaynightpride on Facebook or Instagram for updates about scheduling or location changes.
