ALBANY – NYGOP Chair Ed Cox released a statement addressing a recent incident in Queens where two NYPD officers were wounded by an individual identified as an illegal migrant.

"Last night’s tragic shooting in Queens, where two NYPD officers were wounded by an illegal migrant, underscores the grave consequences of failed leadership from Governor Kathy Hochul and President Joe Biden," Cox stated. "Their reckless policies have created a climate where lawlessness thrives, putting our brave officers and citizens at risk. New York deserves leadership that prioritizes safety and upholds the rule of law. We must hold those in power accountable for these preventable tragedies and demand immediate action to restore order and security in our communities."
