Former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, is criticizing left-leaning media for inciting the Republican Party toward a civil war with itself. Haley wrote an opinion piece for the Wall Street Journal and said that the liberal media is widening the divide between Republican members by pressuring them to disavow former president Donald Trump while shaming his supporters.

Haley wrote, “It wants to stoke a nonstop Republican civil war. The media playbook starts with the demand that everyone pick sides about Donald Trump — either love or hate everything about him,”

She added that even if some of her fellow Republicans criticize Donald Trump they still get harangued by the liberal media because then they are trying to come down in the middle or try to have it both ways. Haley said that rarely do people get to be solely good or solely bad and to pigeonhole Donald Trump in the latter is not helping the nation.

Haley said that the liberal media’s penchant for stoking animosity among Republicans will not help this nation. She said, “Is that really what the anti-Trump media wants? Maybe. Hatred and polarization draw attention, ratings, and clicks. But what’s good for them is bad for America.”

Haley offered a solution wherein the Republican party should be given the chance to recognize what worked during the Trump administration and what didn’t and that they be honest enough to clearly see the good and the bad of the previous administration.
