Daniel P. Walsh, a 58-year-old resident of Rochester, New York, has been sentenced to 97 months in prison and 10 years of supervised release for possession of child pornography involving prepubescent minors. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa, according to an announcement from U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle P. Rossi stated that Walsh came under investigation in November 2024 after Google reported that an account linked to him had been flagged for containing child pornography. Law enforcement officials from the Rochester Police Department and the FBI executed a search warrant at Walsh’s home, seizing multiple computers and digital devices.

A forensic review revealed that Walsh received and possessed more than 600 images and videos depicting child pornography, including material showing prepubescent minors engaged in sexual conduct with adults as well as children subjected to violent sexual abuse. Authorities also found evidence that Walsh superimposed the faces of minors he knew onto pornographic images so it appeared they were engaged in sexual acts.

The case was investigated by the Rochester Police Department, led by Chief David Smith, along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation Task Force under Special Agent-in-Charge Phillip Tejera.
