Representative Jerry Nadler, who has served New York’s 12th district in the U.S. Congress since 1992 and previously held office in the New York State Assembly, continues to use social media to communicate his legislative priorities and concerns. His recent posts address oversight of federal agencies, local government transparency regarding public health, and criticism of legislative actions by Senate Republicans.
On July 14, 2025, Nadler stated his commitment to governmental oversight: “I will continue to use every tool at my disposal—oversight, advocacy, and legislation—to protect the Department of Education and hold this Administration accountable.”
The following day, on July 15, Nadler referenced ongoing efforts related to information about air quality after September 11th: “For years, I’ve demanded that the City release what it knew about the toxic air after 9/11. Thanks to @NYCCouncil’s vote, we’re finally closer to the truth and long-overdue accountability.” He also directed readers to a full statement issued with Representative Dan Goldman.
Later on July 15, Nadler criticized a Republican Senator for introducing legislation that would repeal parts of a reconciliation package passed two weeks prior: “A Republican Senator just introduced a bill to repeal parts of the reconciliation package he voted for two weeks ago—and, with zero shame, named it the Protect Medicaid and Rural Hospitals Act. Despite their lies, Republicans knew exactly what they were doing when they voted to”
Jerry Nadler was born in New York City in 1947 and currently resides in Manhattan. He graduated from Columbia University with a BA in 1969 and earned his JD from Fordham University in 1978.
