Rep. Nadler criticizes Trump’s use of power and highlights Congressional App Challenge

U.S. Representative Jerry Nadler, who serves New York’s 12th district, posted a series of tweets in October 2025 addressing former President Donald Trump’s approach to law and order, presidential accountability, and a reminder about the Congressional App Challenge.

On October 18, Nadler wrote, “To Trump, ‘law and order’ has never meant justice, it’s meant punishing his enemies and protecting his allies. Between commuting and pardoning the sentences of corrupt Republicans and donors, doing everything he can to block the release of the Epstein files, and demanding that”.

Later that day, Nadler commented on a demonstration in Times Square, stating, “New Yorkers at the No Kings march in Times Square today said loud and clear: this nation has no kings. The President answers to the Constitution and the American people, not the other way around. Trump has made it clear he believes his power is unchecked, weaponizing the”.

On October 20, Nadler shifted focus to a legislative initiative, posting, “Just ten days left to submit an app for the Congressional App Challenge!”

Nadler has represented New York’s 12th district in Congress since 1992, succeeding Ted Weiss. He previously served in the New York State Assembly from 1977 to 1992. Born in New York City in 1947, Nadler is a longtime Manhattan resident. He graduated from Columbia University with a BA in 1969 and earned a JD from Fordham University in 1978.
