Rep. Jerry Nadler, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 12th district since 1992, has recently addressed two key policy issues—health care tax credits and congestion pricing—in a series of posts on his official social media account.
On December 9, 2025, Nadler stated, “Every House Democrat has signed a discharge petition to extend ACA health care tax credits for three years. We need just four Republicans to stand up and join us. It’s time to help Americans and stop premiums from skyrocketing.”
The following day, on December 10, he commented on the ongoing debate over congestion pricing: “Opponents of congestion pricing have reached new levels of desperation. A 22% drop is a remarkable achievement that exceeds the program’s projections. Here’s the truth: congestion pricing is working better than expected and becoming more popular every day.”
Later that same day, Nadler reiterated concerns about the expiration of Affordable Care Act (ACA) health care tax credits: “The deadline to extend ACA health care tax credits is here. Republicans have shown no interest in extending these vital credits, first shutting down the government for weeks and now hiding behind false claims of fraud rather than helping millions of Americans afford health care.”
Nadler’s comments come as Congress faces deadlines regarding federal support for health insurance premiums under the ACA—a recurring issue with significant implications for millions of Americans’ access to affordable coverage.
In addition to his legislative work on national issues such as health care reform and urban transportation policy, Nadler brings decades of experience in public service. He began his career in the New York State Assembly before joining Congress in 1992, succeeding Ted Weiss. Born in New York City in 1947 and currently residing in Manhattan, Nadler holds degrees from Columbia University (BA) and Fordham University (JD).
