Rep. Jerry Nadler, a U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 12th district since 1992, has raised concerns on social media regarding the Trump Administration’s approach to drug trafficking in the Caribbean.
On December 17, 2025, Nadler posted: “The Trump Administration has chosen to abandon a policy of interdiction to combat drug trafficking in the Caribbean and instead become the judge, jury, and executioner.
They also have not provided Congress with a public legal justification for these killings, nor has it”.
Shortly after, he followed up with another post directing readers to his full statement: “Read my full statement: https://t.co/9coi0wNAaM”.
On December 18, 2025, Nadler shared an additional link without further comment: “https://t.co/cvSux0Vrto”.
Nadler’s statements come amid ongoing debates about U.S. counter-narcotics operations in the Caribbean region. The Congressman alleges that the administration has shifted from interdiction efforts to more unilateral actions without providing Congress with a public legal rationale for reported killings associated with these operations.
Jerry Nadler was born in New York City in 1947 and currently resides in Manhattan. He holds degrees from Columbia University and Fordham University. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the New York State Assembly from 1977 to 1992.
