Rep. Jerry Nadler, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 12th district since 1992, posted a series of statements on September 5, 2025, addressing the current state of the economy, former President Donald Trump’s policies and conduct, and public health measures in New York.

In his first post at 17:40 UTC, Nadler commented on recent economic trends: “Unemployment is rising and the country is losing thousands of jobs. Later that day at 18:43 UTC, Nadler responded to comments made about him by Donald Trump: “Donald Trump, insulter-in-Chief, recently made comments about me. Here’s my statement: ‘I’ve known Donald Trump almost as long as he’s known Jeffrey Epstein. I’ve always known him for the charlatan he is. Now I know him as a twice impeached president, convicted felon, and”

At 20:11 UTC on September 5th, Nadler addressed public health policy in New York: “I’m grateful that @GovKathyHochul has acted to ensure New Yorkers can easily get the COVID vaccine after Trump and RFK Jr. shamefully sided with conspiracy theorists over doctors and made it harder for American families to protect themselves.”

Nadler has represented New York’s 12th district in Congress since succeeding Ted Weiss in 1992. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the New York State Assembly from 1977 to 1992. Born in New York City in 1947 and currently residing in Manhattan, Nadler holds degrees from Columbia University (BA) and Fordham University (JD).
