Rep. Jerry Nadler, a seasoned member of the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 12th district, has recently expressed his views on various political issues through a series of tweets. Nadler, who succeeded Ted Weiss in 1992 and has served since then, voiced concerns regarding employment within the Veterans Affairs department, legal defense strategies for former President Donald Trump, and immigration rhetoric from the Republican Party.
On March 5, 2025, Rep. Nadler criticized former President Donald Trump and Elon Musk for their alleged plans to terminate 83,000 employees at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), many of whom are veterans themselves. Nadler questioned whether this move was intended to “sabotage the VA” as a pretext for privatization efforts. He assured that “House Democrats will fight like hell for those who served our nation.”
Later that day, Nadler took aim at Trump’s legal defense team and Republicans on the Judiciary Committee.
