Rep. Jerry Nadler, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 12th district since 1992, has used his social media platform to voice strong opposition to recent state and federal decisions regarding energy policy and healthcare legislation.

On November 7, 2025, Nadler criticized the approval of a controversial pipeline project by the state government, stating: “I am profoundly disappointed by New York State’s decision to approve the NESE fracked-gas pipeline. It disregards science, public opposition, and New York’s own climate goals. My statement: https://t.co/8eOvq52jFt”

Later that same day, Nadler turned his attention to former President Donald Trump’s approach to energy policy and its impact on consumers: “Trump is an out-of-touch billionaire who cares more about his new ballroom than about what working families pay just to keep the lights on. In fact, energy prices are rising across the board because he gutted America’s clean-energy industry and dragged us back toward costly https://t.co/Lt1oCO4di2”

On November 10, 2025, Nadler addressed ongoing debates in Congress over healthcare subsidies and legislative trust issues: “Americans can’t afford this deal. They also can’t trust @SpeakerJohnson to ever put a bill extending ACA subsidies on the House floor. We learned that much when he refused to keep his word and fund DC back in March. Democratic Senators must hold the line and reject this deal. https://t.co/Me6GKIixkc https://t.co/jd4hffR0hJ”

Nadler’s statements come amid longstanding involvement in both state and national politics. He has represented New York’s 12th District in Congress since replacing Ted Weiss in 1992 after serving in the New York State Assembly from 1977 to 1992. Born in New York City in 1947 and currently residing in Manhattan, Nadler holds degrees from Columbia University (BA) and Fordham University (JD).
