Rep. Jerry Nadler, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 12th district since 1992, posted a series of statements on July 30, 2025, addressing health care policy and redistricting efforts in New York.
On the anniversary of key federal health programs, Nadler criticized recent legislative actions by Republicans. In a post made at 19:57 UTC on July 30, he stated: “On the 60th Anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid, I’m thinking of the millions of Americans whose health care is being taken away because Republicans wanted tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy.
Republicans betrayed the American people when they passed the Big, Ugly Bill. I will not https://t.co/QhXytGUN9r“.
Earlier that day at 14:47 UTC, Nadler shared another post without additional commentary: https://t.co/PeRNPT8zu0.
Later in the evening at 21:06 UTC, Nadler addressed state-level political strategy regarding electoral maps. He wrote: “New York Democrats must fight fire with fire.
I strongly support @MicahLasher and @SenGianaris legislation to allow New York to do mid-decade redistricting in response to Texas and other GOP-controlled states pursuing it. https://t.co/B5zavXE1cf“.
Nadler has represented New York’s 12th district in Congress since replacing Ted Weiss in 1992. Prior to his congressional service, he was a member of the New York State Assembly from 1977 to 1992. Born in New York City in 1947 and currently residing in Manhattan, Nadler graduated from Columbia University with a BA in 1969 and earned his JD from Fordham University in 1978.
