Rep. Jerry Nadler, a long-serving U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 12th district, recently used his social media platform to highlight legislative developments and criticize Senate Republicans and the Trump administration.
On December 10, 2025, Nadler expressed satisfaction with the progress of the HEAR Act, stating, “I am proud to be the lead House Democrat on the HEAR Act, and even prouder it just passed the Senate unanimously. Now is the time for the House to follow suit to send it to the President’s desk. The bill will aid in the fight to continue to return works of art stolen by the”.
The following day, December 11, Nadler criticized Senate Republicans regarding healthcare policy: “Senate Republicans just blocked critical ACA subsidy extensions with no viable plan, leaving millions’ coverage hanging in the balance. Republicans promised action after the shutdown, but they rejected every bill to extend ACA help—pure betrayal during an affordability crisis.”
Later that same day, he commented on legal actions involving former President Trump’s administration and New York State Attorney General Letitia James: “The Trump administration is now 0 for 3 in its bad-faith attempts to indict @NewYorkStateAG Letitia James. That’s strike three. When will they stop this dangerous abuse of power? And when will they stop humiliating themselves in front of federal judges?”
Nadler has represented New York’s 12th district since succeeding Ted Weiss in Congress in 1992 and previously served in the New York State Assembly from 1977 to 1992. He was born in New York City in 1947 and currently resides in Manhattan. Nadler graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and earned a Juris Doctor from Fordham University.
