Rep. Jerry Nadler, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 12th district since 1992, has issued a series of statements on social media addressing concerns about antisemitism and the ongoing government shutdown.

On October 21, 2025, Nadler highlighted the approaching open enrollment period for the Affordable Care Act (ACA), urging action from House leadership. He posted, “With open enrollment for the ACA just 11 days away, @SpeakerJohnson must call the House back to Washington to protect Americans’ health care and end this shutdown. Republicans need to act now to prevent 114% premium hikes and stop millions of Americans from losing coverage.”
Nadler, who was born in New York City in 1947 and currently resides in Manhattan, has a long history of public service. Before joining Congress in 1992 after replacing Ted Weiss, he served in the New York State Assembly from 1977 to 1992. Nadler holds a BA from Columbia University and a JD from Fordham University.
