Rep. Jerry Nadler, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 12th district, has recently addressed several issues on his official Twitter account, ranging from federal funding and labor negotiations to LGBTQ+ rights.
On February 7, 2026, Nadler commented on a legal decision involving former President Donald Trump: “Important victory: Trump must follow the law and release these funds now to allow construction to resume.”
Three days later, on February 9, 2026, Nadler expressed support for nurses in New York City following a new agreement between hospitals and healthcare workers: “I am happy to see that @nynurses, Mt. Sinai, and Montefiore hospitals have reached a deal to properly provide for our city’s brave nurses who take care of our community. I proudly joined our nurses on the picket line, and am inspired by their resilience in this long fight for”
On February 10, 2026, Nadler criticized actions by the Trump Administration regarding LGBTQ+ visibility: “This is another disgusting example of the Trump Administration’s effort to erase the LGBTQ+ community. Removing the Pride flag will not make us forget the legacy of Stonewall. I fought for Stonewall to become designated as a National Monument and I will fight to see that the”
Nadler has represented New York’s 12th District in Congress since 1992 after succeeding Ted Weiss. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the New York State Assembly from 1977 to 1992. Born in New York City in 1947 and currently residing in Manhattan at age 75, Nadler holds degrees from Columbia University (BA) and Fordham University (JD).
