Rep. Jerry Nadler, a U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 12th district since 1992, posted several statements on his social media account on August 27, 2025, addressing issues ranging from public park funding to gun violence and national security.

In one post at 17:36 UTC, Nadler highlighted concerns about the impact of budget reductions on public parks: “Amid deep cuts, more than 90 parks have reported problems like lost revenue and cuts to emergency services.”

Later that day, at 18:18 UTC, he responded to a tragic event in Minnesota involving gun violence: “I am deeply saddened by today’s tragedy in Minnesota. Our children and their parents should be able to go to school without fear. Congress has failed our children for years, we must work together to address the epidemic of gun violence in our country. Trump and Republicans only”

At 20:06 UTC, Nadler commented on recent developments concerning U.S. intelligence leadership and foreign policy: “Last week, Donald Trump fired the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency because he refused to lie about the result of Trump’s unauthorized attack on Iran and dared to tell the truth about the ensuing state of Iran’s nuclear program in an honest, sober, and professional manner.”

Nadler has been a member of Congress since replacing Ted Weiss in 1992 and previously served in the New York State Assembly from 1977 until his election to Congress. He was born in New York City in 1947 and currently resides in Manhattan. Nadler is an alumnus of Columbia University (BA) and Fordham University (JD).
