Rep. Jerry Nadler, who represents New York’s 12th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing recent political developments and local appointments.
On February 4, 2026, Nadler criticized the House Judiciary Committee’s actions regarding former President Donald Trump. He stated, “.@JudiciaryGOP is trying to distract from Trump’s deadly policies with their sham hearing today. I won’t let them. Later that day, Nadler congratulated Phyllis A. Joy for her new appointment to lead New York City’s Office to Combat Antisemitism: “I’m thrilled to hear the news of my friend and @NYJewishAgenda Executive Director @phylisajoy being named to head @NYCMayor’s Office to Combat Antisemitism. I have confidence she will do an excellent job, just as she has at NYJA, of bringing diverse people together to support” (posted February 4, 2026).
On February 5, Nadler addressed long-standing concerns about toxic exposure at Ground Zero after September 11th: “I have continuously called on the City to release all information regarding toxic exposure at Ground Zero for over two decades. Nadler has served in Congress since replacing Ted Weiss in 1992 and previously held office in the New York State Assembly from 1977 until his election to Congress. Born in New York City in 1947 and residing in Manhattan, he holds degrees from Columbia University and Fordham University.
