Rep. Jerry Nadler, who represents New York’s 12th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on his social media accounts addressing recent events and policy changes.
On January 7, 2026, Nadler alleged misconduct by federal officers, stating: “ICE murdered an American citizen and legal observer in broad daylight today. Nadler has represented New York’s 12th district since 1992 after succeeding Ted Weiss. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the New York State Assembly from 1977 to 1992. Born in New York City in 1947 and currently residing in Manhattan at age 75, Nadler is a graduate of Columbia University (BA) and Fordham University (JD).
