Rep. Jerry Nadler, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 12th district since 1992, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing topics ranging from Middle East conflict to domestic labor issues and Federal Reserve independence.
On January 10, 2026, Nadler commented on the actions of Hamas, stating, “Hamas is a terrorist organization that seeks the destruction of Israel and intentionally targets civilians. This is antisemitism pure and simple.”
Two days later, on January 12, 2026, Nadler criticized former President Donald Trump regarding the Federal Reserve chair investigation: “Trump’s sham investigation into @FederalReserve Chair Powell is just one more desperate power grab as he looks to install another person to do his bidding. He is threatening the independence of the Fed to serve himself and his billionaire friends, not the American people.”
Later that same day, Nadler expressed support for striking nurses at Mount Sinai Morningside in New York City: “Nurses should not have to strike for decent benefits, fair wages, and dignity. I was proud to join @nynurses on the Mount Sinai Morningside picket line as they fight for a fair contract that protects them and the New Yorkers they care for. I stand with nurses.”
Nadler has been an active figure in Congress since replacing Ted Weiss in 1992 and previously served in the New York State Assembly from 1977 until his election to Congress. Born in New York City in 1947 and currently residing in Manhattan, Nadler holds degrees from Columbia University (BA) and Fordham University (JD).
