Rep. Jerry Nadler, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 12th district, has recently shared his views on several pressing issues through social media posts. Nadler, who succeeded Ted Weiss in 1992 and has been an influential figure in Congress since then, continues to address significant political matters.

On June 5, 2025, Rep. Nadler expressed concerns about what he described as “extraordinary Executive Branch overreach into Congress.” He stated that “DHS officers came to my Congressional office to intimidate my staff and office.” According to Nadler, there were no protesters or riots at the time of this incident.

The following day, June 6, 2025, Nadler highlighted findings from a new KFF poll regarding ACA marketplace enrollees. He noted that more enrollees identify as Republican than Democrat but criticized House Republicans for passing legislation that could result in “16 million people to lose their health insurance.” This includes over eight million individuals who purchase their insurance through the ACA marketplace.

Later on June 6, Rep. Nadler participated in a Democratic forum focused on the Trump administration’s treatment of migrants. He accused the administration of committing severe abuses against migrants and violating legal obligations. In his words, “The administration is disappearing people—often in the dead of night—without due process.”

Nadler was born in New York City in 1947 and currently resides in Manhattan. His educational background includes a BA from Columbia University and a JD from Fordham University.
