Rep. Jerry Nadler, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 12th district since 1992, used his social media platform on July 22, 2025, to address several issues including immigration detention conditions, the release of Epstein files, and accessibility improvements in New York City’s subway system.

In a post from July 22 at 13:35 UTC, Nadler criticized current immigration enforcement practices: “This is what the Administration doesn’t want the public, or Members of Congress, to see. These conditions are inhumane and completely unacceptable. It’s also more proof that ICE is continuing to violate federal law by continuing to block me and my colleagues from conducting”.

Later that day at 15:45 UTC, he questioned Republican leadership regarding transparency around the Epstein investigation: “When Republicans go home for over a month, they’ll have to face their constituents and tell them why @SpeakerJohnson and President Trump aren’t working to release the Epstein files. What is Speaker Johnson and the Trump Administration so desperate to hide from Americans?”

At 20:15 UTC on July 22, Nadler highlighted efforts to improve accessibility in New York City transit during Disability Pride Month: “July is Disability Pride Month and I’m proud to celebrate with the announcement that Cathedral Parkway–110th Street station will become more accessible. Congestion pricing is raising the necessary funds to ensure every New Yorker can ride our subway system.”

Nadler has represented New York’s 12th District in Congress since replacing Ted Weiss in 1992. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the New York State Assembly from 1977 until his election to federal office. Born in Manhattan in 1947 and currently residing there, Nadler graduated from Columbia University with a BA in 1969 and earned a JD from Fordham University in 1978.
