The New York University men’s and women’s track and field teams competed in the two-day Farley Inter Regional Meet, hosted by Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, on May 9.

The meet gave NYU athletes an opportunity to achieve qualifying marks for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships later this month. Despite rainy conditions at the Lee Track and Field Complex, several team members posted strong performances.

Julian Aske delivered the top result for NYU with a first-place finish in the men’s 800-meter final. Aske recorded a career-best time of 1:50.81, which currently ranks as the twentieth-fastest mark in Division III this outdoor season. In the women’s 1500-meter final, Katherine Cochran finished third with a time of 4:29.37—seventeenth-best nationally—and Katharine Frank placed seventh at 4:39.07.

Other notable results included Theo Udelson-Nee’s fourteenth-place finish in the men’s 1500 meters (3:54.71) and Alex Hrycyszyn’s nineteenth place (3:57.81). Beverly Okyere took tenth place in the women’s 400 meters with a personal best of 58.62 seconds.

In field events, Amalia Hronides was ninth in the women’s high jump with a mark of 1.53 meters; Alexa McMillian finished thirteenth in the women’s long jump at 4.93 meters; Drew Boyce also took thirteenth on the men’s side with a best jump of 6.14 meters; and Nishad Sankar placed tenth in men’s triple jump at 13.57 meters.

The Violets are scheduled to conclude their regular season on Monday, May 11, at the Widener Final Qualifier meet in Chester, Pennsylvania.
