The New York Republican Party (NYGOP) has issued a statement sharply criticizing the early actions of Zohran Mamdani’s administration in New York City. The statement, released five days after Mamdani took office, accuses him of pursuing policies that are harmful to the city and its residents.
“Less than a week into Zohran Mamdani’s regime, he has been exactly as advertised: an anti-American zealot bent on destroying New York City from within,” said NYGOP Spokesman David Laska.
The NYGOP alleges that Mamdani has shown support for a “narco-terrorist dictator” over the United States, appointed what they describe as a “blatantly racist lunatic” to oversee housing policy, and chosen a schools chancellor who will “dismantle gifted programs in the name of equity.” The party also claims Mamdani plans to direct city resources toward political organizing and continues to fill his administration with individuals accused of anti-Semitism.
The statement also criticizes Governor Kathy Hochul, stating: “Cowardly Kathy Hochul won’t stand up to any of this. There’s only one way to fight back against Mamdani – electing Republicans statewide, starting with kicking out Cowardly Kathy and electing Bruce Blakeman Governor.”
Kathy Hochul is currently serving as the 57th governor of New York. She has held the position since 2021 and is the first woman to serve as governor in state history. More information about her background can be found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathy_Hochul.
