NYGOP Chair Ed Cox has called on congressional candidate Josh Riley to denounce comments made by Miles Burnett, the Democratic candidate for Mayor of Binghamton. This follows a report that Burnett used a racial slur in a video posted on social media.

“The video of Miles Burnett using a vile racial slur is appalling. He is obviously unfit for office and should drop out of the race,” Cox said in a statement.

Cox further stated, “If Josh Riley fails to immediately and unequivocally condemn such vile language and disavow any association with it, he demonstrates either tacit approval or cowardice. The people of Binghamton deserve leadership that rejects hate, both in Washington and at home.”

Kathy Hochul, New York’s first female governor and member of the Democratic Party, has served as the state’s 57th governor since 2021. More information about her background can be found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathy_Hochul.
