NYGOP Chair Ed Cox has issued a statement regarding the deportation of Mahmoud Kahlil, emphasizing that such actions should not be contentious. Cox argues that individuals in the United States on student visas or green cards should face deportation if they support terrorist organizations.

Cox criticized New York officials Kathy Hochul and Letitia James for allegedly siding with Kahlil, whom he claims supports Hamas. He stated, “Kathy Hochul and Letitia James side with a man who openly supports Hamas, rather than with the safety and security of New Yorkers, especially Jewish students on campus.” According to Cox, their stance highlights a lack of seriousness in protecting citizens from foreign threats.

He further challenged several Democratic figures—Tom Suozzi, Laura Gillen, Pat Ryan, Josh Riley, and John Mannion—to clarify their positions. Cox questioned whether they stand with terrorism victims or with those advocating for extremist causes. He concluded by warning that New Yorkers will remember their silence or perceived cowardice.
