NYGOP Chair Ed Cox has issued a statement regarding the selection of Blake Gendebein as the Democratic nominee for New York’s 21st Congressional District. The statement was released following Gendebein’s emergence as the nominee.

Cox expressed his party’s satisfaction with the Democrats’ choice, stating, “Republicans are thrilled by the selection of Democrats of radical Far Left Blake Gendebein, who not only supported Joe Biden’s open border policies, but also bailed out illegals from ICE.” He criticized Gendebein for his comments about local correctional officers and North Country children, claiming that he disparaged them.

The statement continued with further criticism of Gendebein, highlighting his remarks about North Country workers. “Far Left Democrat Blake Gendebien even castigated hardworking North Country workers as ‘awful‘ people who ‘drank too much,’” Cox stated.

Cox described Gendebein as a significant donor to Tedra Cobb and a supporter of prominent Democratic figures such as Kathy Hochul, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris. He also accused Gendebein of supporting economic policies that have negatively impacted families in the district.

In conclusion, Cox asserted confidence in retaining the congressional seat in the upcoming special election: “Democrats didn’t do their homework when they selected Blake Gendebien and his catastrophic statements. Republicans will easily hold this seat in the upcoming special election because the North Country is unquestionably Trump Country.”
