NYGOP Chair Ed Cox has called on Congressman Pat Ryan to clarify his support for Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani following Mamdani’s recent statement on the anniversary of the October 7th attacks. In the statement, Mamdani accused Israel of genocide, which Cox described as “modern-day blood libel.”

Cox stated: “Pat Ryan’s endorsement of Zohran Mamdani was reckless then, and it’s indefensible now. Mamdani’s shameful statement on the October 7th anniversary – accusing Israel of genocide – is modern-day blood libel. These vile accusations distort history, demonize the Jewish state and dishonor the memory of the 1,200 innocent victims murdered by Hamas terrorists two years ago.”

He further questioned whether Congressman Ryan still supports Mamdani or if he would distance himself from what Cox called antisemitic rhetoric. “Does Congressman Ryan stand by his endorsement? Will he condemn this antisemitic rhetoric, or does he share Mamdani’s reprehensible views? New Yorkers deserve answers, and they deserve better than politicians who enable hatred against the Jewish community,” Cox said.

The statements come at a time when New York continues to be led by Governor Kathy Hochul, who became the state’s first female governor in 2021 and is a member of the Democratic Party. More information about Governor Hochul can be found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathy_Hochul.
