The New York State Fair has announced a collaboration with the Rochester Red Wings to engage fans with trivia contests during home games. The initiative, aimed at promoting The Great New York State Fair and New York agriculture, offers participants a chance to win free tickets to the 2025 Fair. The partnership also expands on previous collaborations through the Taste NY program, featuring local craft beverages and foods at the ballpark.
State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that it supports local food and fun. He noted that “a great day is just an hour away” for Red Wings fans looking forward to more family activities at the Fair.
Fair Director Julie LaFave highlighted that baseball season signals summer’s arrival and anticipates increased excitement as The Great New York State Fair approaches. She emphasized that this partnership aims to remind Rochester residents of nearby family entertainment options.
The promotion includes a trivia game between innings at every other home game throughout the Fair’s duration. Participants will answer questions about The Great New York State Fair and New York agriculture, with winners receiving four free tickets to the event.
Rochester Red Wings General Manager Dan Mason shared his personal connection to the Fair, recalling cherished family memories made there. He expressed pride in partnering with such an iconic state event focused on affordable family entertainment.
The Taste NY program continues its presence at Innovative Field, promoting local craft beverages and foods from various producers across New York State. This year’s offerings include products from breweries like Three Heads Brewing in Rochester and Perry’s Ice Cream from Akron.
In addition to this new partnership, The Great New York State Fair continues its promotional efforts with other teams such as the Syracuse Mets, bringing themed games and challenges to their field events.
