New York City FC announced on June 3 a summer of soccer celebrations during the FIFA World Cup 2026, highlighted by the launch of City Corner, the club’s dedicated fan experience at the NYNJ World Cup 26 Queens Group Stage HQ. The event will take place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center from June 11 to 27.
City Corner will be located in Willets Point, directly across from Etihad Park, which is set to become New York City FC’s future home in 2027. The activation aims to introduce World Cup fans to New York City FC as the city’s home team and celebrate its new neighborhood. Modeled after a classic New York City block, City Corner will feature mock storefronts and elements inspired by the club’s identity. Fans can participate in games, win prizes and giveaways, enjoy live entertainment, and meet first team players as well as Sky the Pigeon, the club’s mascot.
The space will also include an Etihad Park Stadium Studio where fans can learn about and purchase tickets for Etihad Park. Brad Sims, CEO of New York City FC, said: “This is a historic moment for soccer in New York City, and it is especially meaningful for us to create this experience in Willets Point, right across from where Etihad Park will open in 2027. City Corner is designed to welcome fans, celebrate the global game and introduce more people to New York City FC as we prepare for our next chapter in Queens.”
City Corner will offer interactive experiences supported by partners such as Paze, Casper, MetroPlusHealth, FlixBus and The Perecman Firm. Additional programming includes participation in regional events like NYFEST at Brooklyn Bridge Park on June 6; Consulate Cup on June 7; watch parties at Stony Brook University on June 12; UBS Arena Watch Party on June 19; Community Cup Final at PS 211 on June 20; adiCup NY Tournament at Brooklyn Bridge Park on June 26; Fanatics Fest at Javits Center from July 16–19; and a final watch event at Kensico Dam Plaza on July 19.
The club stated that these events reflect its commitment to engaging supporters throughout FIFA World Cup 2026 while strengthening community connections across New York. This commitment continues beyond the tournament with initiatives such as “26 for 26,” which aims to build new mini-soccer pitches citywide.
