Rep. Jerry Nadler, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 12th District since 1992, recently expressed concerns over the enforcement of the FACE Act and issues surrounding abortion rights through a series of tweets. Nadler, known for his long tenure in public service, also highlighted actions taken by House Republicans that he believes threaten women’s access to healthcare services.

On June 10, 2025, Rep. Nadler stated that he had already sent two letters alongside Representatives Sean Casten and Jan Schakowsky to the U.S. Attorney General. These letters emphasized “the importance of enforcing the FACE Act” and sought guidance on how Congress could support the Department of Justice in this effort. However, he noted, “We never received a response.”

In another tweet posted on the same day, Nadler addressed the persistence of anti-abortion violence despite past efforts to curb it. He remarked that such incidents have resurged since Roe v. Wade was overturned, including cases of arson, burglary, obstruction, assault, and death threats directed at abortion clinics and providers: “We know…that anti-abortion violence didn’t end in the 90s…”

Additionally, Rep. Nadler criticized recent legislative actions by House Republicans as part of what he described as a broader attack on women’s rights. On June 10th, he commented on a budget bill passed by House Republicans aimed at defunding Planned Parenthood: “Today’s hearing is part of a wider Republican attack on women…” He voiced concern that these moves are steps toward eliminating nationwide access to abortion.

Rep. Jerry Nadler was born in New York City in 1947 and has lived there throughout his life. He holds degrees from Columbia University and Fordham University School of Law.
