On February 3, 2025, Rep. Nadler commented on Prime Minister Netanyahu’s visit to Washington and his meeting with President Trump. He emphasized the importance of not allowing political ambitions to interfere with efforts to release remaining hostages and called for continued work towards a lasting ceasefire in Gaza. “As Prime Minister Netanyahu visits Washington this week and meets with President Trump, we cannot allow his political ambitions to impede the effort to release all the remaining hostages.”
On February 4, 2025, Rep. Nadler criticized an executive order by President Trump that bans gender-affirming care for minors. He expressed concern that this decision removes critical healthcare decision-making from doctors and patients and places it in the hands of Republican politicians. He also voiced gratitude towards New York State Attorney General for opposing these measures. “Trump’s executive order banning gender affirming care for minors takes critical health care decision making away from doctors and patients, putting it in the hands of Republican politicians.”
Later on February 4, 2025, Rep. Nadler paid tribute to Rosa Parks on her birthday by acknowledging her role in igniting the Civil Rights Movement that ended segregation in America. He urged people to live by her words amidst rising hate sentiments. “Today, on her birthday, we honor #RosaParks, whose bravery helped ignite the Civil Rights Movement that ended segregation in America.”
