Rep. Jerry Nadler, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 12th district, recently shared several tweets addressing pressing political and social issues. These posts reflect his ongoing engagement with policy matters affecting health care, education, and government actions.
On May 6, 2025, Rep. Nadler criticized the Trump administration for its staffing decisions related to the World Trade Center Health Program. “The Trump administration has fired another 16 World Trade Center Health Program staff,” he stated. This follows a significant reduction in staff at NIOSH, the agency responsible for operating the program.
The following day, on May 7, 2025, Rep. Nadler addressed a report from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) regarding health care policies advocated by the GOP. “The CBO just exposed the GOP’s lies & confirmed what @HouseDemocrats have been warning for months,” he wrote, accusing Republicans of attempting to undermine health care access while favoring tax breaks for wealthy individuals.
Later that day, Rep. Nadler highlighted his discussions with educational leaders concerning Pell Grant eligibility proposals. “Today, I met with @ChancellorCUNY, @macaulayhonors Dean Byrne, @Hunter_College President Cantor, and @CunyOf Dean Mochofsky,” he tweeted. The conversation focused on how potential changes could impact students nationwide who rely on these grants.
Rep. Jerry Nadler has represented New York’s 12th District since 1992 after succeeding Ted Weiss and previously served in the New York State Assembly from 1977 to 1992.
