Rep. Jerry Nadler, currently serving as a U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 12th district, took to social media to address several pressing issues concerning policy decisions and transportation initiatives. Born in New York City in 1947 and a Columbia University graduate, Nadler has a lengthy tenure in politics, replacing former Congress member Ted Weiss in 1992. In his recent posts, Nadler provides commentary on tax policy and urban congestion management.

On April 15, 2025, Nadler shared a post expressing his thoughts about the ease and cost-effectiveness of the “IRS Direct File,” emphasizing that it allows millions of Americans to file their taxes directly and for free. He stated, “Trump’s plan to kill Direct File is a gift to billion-dollar tax prep companies at the expense of American families. Once again, he’s siding with profits over people.”

Later, on April 16, 2025, Nadler turned his attention to the issue of urban traffic management. He endorsed the implementation of congestion pricing, an approach aimed at regulating and reducing congestion in urban areas. Nadler emphasized the effectiveness of this initiative, declaring, “The numbers don’t lie! Congestion pricing continues to deliver on its promises—less traffic, fewer crashes, and reduced noise pollution, all contributing to safer, quieter streets.”

Jerry Nadler has served in the U.S. Congress, representing New York’s 12th District, since 1992. He previously served in the New York State Assembly from 1977 to 1992, on the New York House of Representatives.
